NATIONAL HALL OF CHAMPIONS

NOMINATIONS

The National Hall of Champions seeks to honor and celebrate the dedication of individuals who have made lasting contributions to the poultry hobby. This recognition ensures that the hard work, generosity, and positive impact of these individuals do not go unnoticed.

Each year, honorees will be selected through a peer nomination system, allowing the community itself to shine a spotlight on those who have given so much to others.

WHO CAN BE NOMINATED?

Honorees may come from all walks of life and roles within the hobby. For example:

  • A dedicated club secretary who has volunteered for decades.
  • A breeder who has provided countless people with their start.
  • A mentor who has shared valuable time, knowledge, and encouragement.

The Hall of Champions recognizes that contributions take many forms—big and small—and every effort to support the hobby matters.

Categories of Recognition

Nominations will be accepted in two categories:

  1. Living Honorees – individuals who are still with us today.
  2. Memorial Honorees – individuals who have passed on but whose legacy continues to inspire.

ELIGIBILITY

The only requirement is that nominees must have been involved with the poultry hobby for at least 20 years.

HOW TO NOMINATE

DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE DESERVING?

This initiative depends entirely on the participation of the community.
If you know someone whose dedication deserves recognition, we invite you to nominate them.

To nominate an individual, please complete a nomination form through the National Hall of Champions Google Form.

You may nominate as many individuals as you like.
A separate nomination form must be submitted for each nominee.

The deadline for submissions is September 1st each year.

SELECTION PROCESS

Anyone who has been involved in the Show Poultry Hobby to some degree, whether as a mentor, breeder, showman, show secretary, judge, event volunteer, or in another meaningful capacity for at least (20) years may be nominated.

All nominations must be submitted using the official National Hall of Champions nomination form. Each nomination form must be completed to the best of the nominator’s ability. A separate form must be completed for each individual nominated. The deadline for submissions is September 1st each year.

The Board will review all nominations within two (2) weeks after the September 1st deadline. All nominators will be notified via the email address provided on the nomination form whether their nominee has been accepted or rejected. Only nominees who have been selected will be contacted directly; those who are not selected will not be contacted but will remain under consideration for up to two additional years.

Each year, the Board may select up to four (3) deceased and up to four (3) living honorees from the pool of nominees.

Nominees who were not selected in prior years may be reconsidered in future years without the need for resubmission, provided their original nomination is still within the two-year carryover period.

Award Presentation

Each awardee will be featured on the official National Hall of Champions website and Facebook Page, highlighting their contributions and achievements.

All awardees will be invited to attend a formal award ceremony held each year on Saturday afternoon of the Ohio National Poultry Show. This venue is chosen for its central location and strong attendance within the hobby.

Each living awardee will receive a personalized plaque to commemorate their achievement. Both living and deceased awardees will have their names added to the perpetual plaque wall, ensuring lasting recognition.

While the Ohio National Poultry Show will serve as the primary venue, the Board may consider additional or alternative venues in future years as the initiative grows.
